Tai Tapu House

On the lower slopes of the Port Hills, this sculptural home nestles into its landscape.

Swiss Pearl cladding forms a sharp black wedge, offset by monolithic white reliefs and natural plaster retaining walls. The house bunkers into the hillside to reduce its visual impact while prevailing winds roll overhead, a careful response to the Outstanding Natural Landscape zone.
