Recognition

On a narrow Sumner site, this rebuild replaced a red-zoned property lost in the Canterbury earthquakes.

The home wraps around a mature maple and a private courtyard, balancing privacy and openness. From a low street frontage the form folds upward to take a second level, and a restrained palette of new and recycled materials keeps it modest.
