He Puna Taimoana

A coastal wellness destination in New Brighton with five hot pools, a plunge pool, sauna, steam room and relaxation areas.

The architecture reconciles the ocean's dynamic nature with built form through terraced landscaping that shelters bathers from prevailing winds. Buildings wrap, crack and push out to create shade and refuge, and the material palette is chosen to weather well on the coast. It has become a beloved local destination and a catalyst for regeneration along the eastern seafront.
